Ken Hailes was on
Argyle Street in Hebburn. Long gone now, but there was a local
man on hand to tell me exactly where it once stood. Here the film
has perfect continuity in relation the geography of the area. Coming
from the Ferry, calling into the Cafe then onto the bookies is
exactly what you could have done in 1970. An example maybe of
Hodges utilising the locations on hand because originally Albert's
death scene was supposed to be filmed at his allotment.
